The Viking Tour events in NC are OPEN not Amateur. Open means anyone can play, even Pro's.

To prepare for these events I suggest you find the best player in your area and play him/her as much 9-ball as possible.

I'm sorry, i was rushed and didnt realized what i typed...thanx for clearing that up. Playing the best player in my area is my typical practice routine, but i feel if i am to do good in the tournament, then i will need more than just play....im just not sure of the best practice routine....Im thinking of taking the shots i have the most trouble with, and hitting those over and over, and keep doing drills along those lines....not sure....but thank you for your advice Mr. Janis

A good practice routine except for practicing the shots you have the most trouble with should include practicing safeties along with making those tougher shots. Playing a better player will help you understand the strategies of safety play during a tournament match.

Also, calling me Mr. is like putting an elevator in an outhouse.

Just call me Mike.

Thanks,

Mj
