Pressing Veneers

After a couple of months of trying to create a solution using practically every piece of equipment I own, I have finally come up with a way to cut perfect miters every time.

Now, the problem I'm having is that when I press the veneers, I am sometimes getting large gaps or glue lines in a few spots. I am using a book press to press them and using West 207 to glue them up.

What am I doing wrong?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like something is not flat. Have a couple pieces of some 1 inch aluminum milled flat on both sides to sandwich the vens before putting the pressure on it.
