Any of you work on these? Any opinions?

I had some slight issues with the stretcher going together, a t-nut in the stretcher was krooked, slates were a lil bit of a paint to get liquid doweled. We managed to make it a heck of a player!!!

fancy way of sayin: super gluing the slates Pretty standard for mechanics. It does not take all that much time and is another way to ensure the seams do not move.

They dont pin the slates anymore??? Any idea why not, it seems (seams) like a good idea??

I'm not a mech but I'll say it's faster and cheaper to skip that.
