I'm looking at buying a Joss cue. I don't know the model but the seller says its from early 2000's and was $475 new. He is asking $250. Is this a good buy?

You replied to my questions just as I was posting them. :)
LOL. i'm quick on the replies. I don't have the cue in-hand so have to rely on the sellers word. Just really trying to figure out if its fair price. I've heard good things about Joss but never shot with one or know anyone that has one. This is actually going to be my backup cue if i buy it. I have a Schon and need something cheaper for when i go places and don't feel comfortable pulling out the Schon.

250 is around market value, if you can talk him down to 200 then it would be a good buy. The shaft diameter is 12.5mm for that cue, just an fyi. Joss cues are high quality and last a long time if you take care of them

Anyone that would steal your Schon would also steal the Joss. I'd get a used Players HXT cue if you go to places were stuff gets stolen. The HXT line has good shafts, the ones with the longer ferrules have a very similar hit and deflection compared to most Joss shafts I used and should be about half the cost of the Joss.
