The local dealer no longer sells Brunswick tables and has a couple new 8' Gold Crown III they are trying to get $4000 for. They don't have ball return. Is this a decent price or is there some room to haggle?

You get what you pay for...usually.

First of all they are not new. If they are indeed new then they have been sitting in a warehouse for several years and probably need new rubber. Gold Crown IV have been out for a while now. Whenever a pool room goes under they will sell them for anywhere from $1800 to $2500 depending on the condition. This is of course with no equipment, no cloth ( or bad cloth) no warranty, no installation, etc. You get what you pay for here. So if you want everything new, installed, with a free car wash, expect to pay a lot more. If you are more concerned with money get the banged up ones from a pool hall.

IF the table is new in the box, from a Authorized Brunswick dealer, with a warranty, delivered and installed, with new equipment, new rubber, with Simonis or Championship Tour Edition cloth, and quality Aramith balls, THEN $4000 is a good deal. But I would bet a soda this is not the case. :)

Gc

Yeah, the couple GC's they have are new old stock. The place (Alkar Billiards) is no longer a Brunswick dealer and they have one of the GC's on the floor and it's new and I think he said the other is in the warehouse. I think that includes cloth, balls, and install but I don't know what quality of cloth or balls. I'd have to check on that.

I've been looking for a used GC, Diamond, or something along those lines for a while. I find them all the time used and pretty cheap but too far away for me to travel and they aren't cheap to ship. I liked the 8' pro GC I the guy has for sale but he's in Texas and it would cost me a mint to get back here. I'm in Omaha, NE and I'm having trouble finding anything close.
