Hi all,
I'm definitely a fan of Stans CTE however I discovered something today while at the pool hall.
I was attempting to pocket ball @ about a half table lenght and nothing was going in.
My visuals are good, my pivot movement is good and my stroke is what I consider very good as well.
After about 4 hours I thought stuff this I going to have a brake. So I went to have some lunch and for the life of me could not work out why I couldn't pocket hardly any balls.
I had a good look at the whole thing and decided to try something different.
I moved into centre cue ball using my shoulder and guess what balls started to drop.
Ball were dropping from the centre of the table to corner pockets because of this small technique.
I had a think about it and I believe it gives you a different cue ball centre then just sweeping in.
I would like to know your thoughts and options as it took me about 1 year to realise what I was not doing correctly.
I can now understand why many players have given up on CTE because it's not just a simple point and shoot.
Looking forward to DVD 2
Cheers

I think it's entirely possible to play this game for an entire lifetime and have little explanation for what one does visually and physically. I know, I was on that path for decades.

The objectivity of CTE changed that for me.

The visual education of CTE PRO ONE occurs first. Most students can learn the visuals of CTE PRO ONE in short order with proper work.

The visuals ALWAYS allow a player to establish a slight NATURAL left or right offset to the shot line. That offset can be described as a 1/2 tip left or right manual pivot.

Sweeping to shot lines is a short study for most serious players. Since the visual offset always equal the same visual sweep to CCB, players become tuned in to the many physical variables such as stance at ball address to include total body orientation to the CB OB relationship. REPEATABLE OBJECTIVITY IS A GAME CHANGER! Since there are only 2 movements to CCB a player can become repeatable with exactly what physical movements occur during the sweep. GAZMAN, you are developing a body awareness of your shoulder and how it functions during your move to CCB. (The refinement never ends!)

The physical challenges at first will lag behind the visual nature of CTE.
The eyes learn the offsets but the body must follow with efficient movements to CCB which become very repeatable over time.

CTE is all about objectivity which connects to table geometry. No other system does this. It's a matter of hard work based on specific visuals and 2 natural movements to CCB.

There are NO magic pills but I CAN describe to any player what to see and how to move to CCB. It's matter of desire and determination after that.

If your visuals are exact and pivots are good and your stroke is straight, then you should have been pocketing balls.

Sweeping in does not give you an incorrect cue ball center, assuming your visuals were precise. If you were getting an incorrect shot line then your sweeps were faulty.

if one really and truly understands CTE, It is SEE and SHOOT.
