Pro One Tip Aiming

So I discovered something last night that works very well on any shot where the visuals are either CTEL/OBA/C or CTEL/OBB

For the CTEL/OBA/C visuals, I get down on the shot with my tip aimed at the center of the OB.

For CTEL/OBB, I aim my tip at the opposite edge of the OB. For example a cut to the right would have my tip aimed at the left edge of the OB.

Somehow this eliminates the need to know how to pivot, and adds even more objectivity to the system. Since now when you have any shot with these visuals, you know that if your tip is aimed through CCB at either the center or edge of the OB, THE SHOT WILL GO IN..

Please note that this is only for direct shots to a pocket. I imagine you can do the same thing on bank shots, but as of right now I don't know for certain.

It'd be great if one of the more accomplished users can give this a try and let me know what they think.

Perhaps I'm missing something but if what you described is actually working, you're visuals and pivots aren't and it is somehow working out. I'm sure Stan will add his opinion which will be the correct one.

The visuals are correct. As for the pivot, I don't even think about it. I would love to hear Stan's thoughts after he's given it a try.

So you align to the visuals standing upright, go down to CCB directly and aim your tip to center of the OB for CTEL+A/C and outside edge of OB for CTEL+B?

Correct.

The standard for Pro One is to focus on CCB. The way I do it is to focus on either the center or outer edge of the OB. I don't actually look at the CB until I'm pretty much down on the shot.

Oh, so you align to your visuals and when going down to your shooting stance you actually go down towards center or the outer edge of the OB with your vision and body and when down in shooting stance just put the bridge hand in place where cue tip is pointing to center of the CB, and you are NOT going down towards CCB first and then aim the tip of your cue to center or edge of OB?

It's great to explore in this game. That's how you learn. However, I can assure you that the work has been done. Here's where it's at: CCB. SEE AND SHOOT!
Learn that ONE TICK that VISUALLY represents the shot line. It can open up a whole new world. As one's proficiency grows, what can be done with that visual line is up to the individual player.
