I know that this subject has probably been mentioned before but i apparently missed it and was just wondering what degree of education most pro players have . i know Nick Varner went to college and so did Steve Mizerak. i was just wondering if others did also..................mike

i know most of the master level players finished beyond college. And are unable to attend tourneys because they have specialized jobs.:)

Mike, as far as education goes, I'm sure you will find that players will fill the full range, from drop out to college grad and beyond.

Archer was a high school drop out im pretty sure.....b/c someone asked him the same question on his board and im pretty sure that was his response....

College pros

I know that Max Eberle went to James Madison University here in VA and I believe has a degree in Marketing. My son just graduated from there. That would be the only thing the two have in common. :)

Brian in VA

I tried to find it, but someone here on the AZ had a thread about this, and they had a the educational background from just about all of the popular pros listed.

According to statistics about 85% of the adults over the age of 25 in the US have at least a high school diploma. I would have to put pool players well below the average. Most hard core players I have known didn't seem very educated. That doesn't mean they are not smart, just their priorities were elsewhere at an early age.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

Scott Frost recently told me that he graduated from high school and also went to college. I'm not positive on this, but I'm pretty sure he said that he graduated from college also.

I believe Mike Davis graduated high school and then joined the Army for a short stint.

Shawn Putnam got angry with a teacher and quit during his senior yr.

Corey Harper has a real estate liscense. Don't know about his schooling.

These are the only "school" stories that I can think of right now...
