I heard many complains on this Forum, and think I might have a CHEAP Solution.

As I was driving home this morning I remember a Product I used on my Camera Bag Straps to keep them from BEATING me up from carrying my Camera Bag all day. When i work as a Still News Photographer. Think my Camera Bag with all the stuff I carried weight almost 18 Pounds.

The Produce worked well and was CHEAP, and I see where it could be adapted to a Pool Cue Case Carry Strap. I used the product personally for over 15 years, and as i said it was CHEAP & WORKED.

It called the “Domke FA-031 U.S. Post Office Shoulder Pad”<<<---Click Here for as link, and can be purchase at most Camera Stores that cater to the Pro Market.

** Product Description says" This shoulder pad fits the contour of your shoulder. This ergonomically designed pad is made of thick foam rubber on a tough leather backing. Identical to the shoulder pad used by letter carriers with the addition of Velcro tabs which adjusts to fit straps up to 2.75" wide. Newly engineered foam makes pad more durable and attractive than ever.

If you live in NY City I recommend B & H Photo as they are a big Domke Dealer....

pbat2751 if you buy one report basck how it works... ;)

What else works ...

Is a thick pad called a selt belt pad. I had to get one
for my Porper 4 x 8. Slides onto your normal
shoulder strap, can adjust to where you want it,
and it is fairly cheap. I bought mine at Autozone.

The one Advantage of the Domke Strap is it is contoured to Fit the Line of your Shoulder.

Your Shoulder is not FLAT & Square. Stand in front of a Mirror and you will see your Shoulder is not FLAT...

selt belt pad ...

The selt bad pad is flexible. They are used for
racing for extra protection in the chest area.
Autozone lists 2 types, 1 for $9.99 and 1 for
$4.99. (under Seat Belt cover nomenclature
on Autozone.com)

Been there and done that....

It works fine, but there has to be something better.

And for under $20 what have you got to loose?

Bruce,

Thanks for the suggestion! That was exactly what I was looking for. While the seatbelt pad works, this just takes it to the next level.

Thanks again

I must have missed this thread the first time around.
Here is my suggestion (i have an Instroke 3x5 artisan)
Don't use the strap.
I don't use mine.
I did once and it bugged the hell out of me whenever i was doing anything but standing still (and then it was still annoying.)
I just carry it by the handle.
I overheard a guy asking somebody what was being asked here, and they guy told him (and pointed to me) and said carry the case like that. :D :p ;)
