I had this problem with a Joss West cue that I bought planning to use a 5/16x14 thread predator shaft on it. I'd never heard of an Acme 5/16x14 thread when I bought the Joss West cue, but I found out about it too late. I didn't understand the reason for using an odd thread joint pin and I couldn't figure what would have been wrong with a standard 5/16x14 thread pin like so many other cue makers use. I learned that lesson the hard way and thank goodness I didn't lose any money on the deal when I sold the Joss West cue. I was advised not to modify the cue (I considered changing the joint pin to a standard 5/16x14 thread pin) and I didn't know who could change the threads on my shaft so I decided to let the cue go to avoid searching for someone to modify my shaft.9ball_in_MN said:My question is I have a 90's joss west and the pin size is different form the earlyer cues the threds are thicker and I am trying to get a preditor shift for it anyone have any ideas
