wanted to know what views and opinions are out there on various books on playing and improving your game.....

my favorite is a book by raymartin...."99 Critical Shots"....i have kept a copy for many years and think it is a very resourceful book for not only the beginner but the advanced player as i use it as a reference guide when i feel my game drop......good foundations always make for a great game....

i look forward to all the great opinions that are out there .......also was curious as to why ray hasnt done another book......juston coleman

the 99 critical shots in pool, is great, however i am going to recomend 3 things for you to buy, these three things, when studied and taken very seriously, will raise your game, to the highest levels, these three things i will recomend are by far the greatest pool instruction material available anywhere in the world. ok, hope i got your ears up! ---- "THE STANDARD VIDEO OF POOL AND BILLIARDS VOL. 2 FOR ADVANCED PLAYERS" by robert byrne. this video happens to be the single greatest piece of instruction on positional play. here mr. byrne's covers everything you need to know, to play excpert position play, and does it in a manner that is so crystal clear, he is now in the billiards hall of fame, for his excpert teaching. "PLAY YOUR BEST POOL" by phil capele. this book was written by a pool maniac. phil, got so involved with the writing of this book, are you ready for this? he worked on it 16 hours a day 7 days a week for 4 months. the man should have been locked up in a mental institution! instead, he came out with the single greatest book ever written on how to play your very best pool, here mr. capele, explains from step one all the way, to step a million! the table of contents is 35 pages!!!!!! just kidding! but hey, it's close! he is so thorough, so complete, there is no stone left unturned! if you study this book, like southeners study the bible, you should play like ralf souquet. "GAMEBREAKERS" by robert byrne, here in his latest video, robert byrne, shows us, that, there is still some shots no human ever thought of or saw before. this is his most precious video, as far as, "so, you think you know pool, do ya?" the shots, theorys, and skill displayed here makes pool history! it's the type of video, where efren reyes would say "WOW!" now, that's an eye opening video! p.s. although these authors/instructers have other books and videos, none of them are as good as the three i just mentioned. enjoy, and grow, my friend, enjoy and grow.
