just wanna say, that the real difference between slow nap cloth and sheered down to nothing cloth, is this, on the sheered cloth simonis 860, you need a full smooth follow through, a "touch" if you will. and with the slow nap cloth Mali cloth, a good smooth follow through will HURT YOU!!, on slow nap, you need a poke, or better yet, a punch stroke. thus there is the difference. i feel allen hopkins with his famous poke will reign high, and earl strickland with his powerfull hard stroke will also excell. the cloth will change the average speed (medium soft) to snooker speed (medium firm)

I think you have it, bass ackwards.
By the way, Allen Hopkins had, little to no backstroke, but he did have, or I should say, does have plenty of, follow through. Don't let lack of back stroke, confuse you on the issue of stroke. It is the part, which happens after, the forward motion, begins, that matters.
