When responding to a item for sale how long should on reasonably wait for response? Is 24hrs a good in-the-ballpark figure? Just trying to get an idea of how other sellers/buyers feel is a good response time-frame. Thanks, Bill

I would think 24hrs or less is reasonable. The way things have gotten on the for sale board here lately, who knows. I get queries and questions and I try to respond to everyone in a very timely fashion(less than 24hrs) no matter how silly the offer or question, but I'm finding more and more that these people don't reciprocate. I've had several offers that I accepted on cue deals and the guys just disappear and I never hear from them.

The sooner the better. 24 hours seems like a long time to me, but I work at a computer all day and always have my iPhone on me so rarely do I go more than a couple hours without checking in if I have an active for sale listing or a message in to someone I'm waiting to hear back on.

I'm sure not everyone is online so much, but I think 24 is more than enough time to reasonably expect a response in.

As a seller I try to respond as quickly as possible so they don't move onto something else. As a buyer it's always nice to hear back soon so you can get your questions answered and know if you should move on and keep looking.

+1

As a seller, I respond ASAP.
As a buyer, I give 24 hours before I move along.

Time is money, if I have to wait 3 days to save a couple bucks, it's not worth my time.

24 hrs to 72 hrs

24 hrs to 72 hrs is reasonable unless you see that the Azer you're dealing with is signed onto the Forum or
you've seen their posts attesting to the fact that they've been on the Forum since your PM contact with them.

If that's the case, 24 hrs becomes the default timeframe.......keep in mind that people have lives, responsibilities
(work & personal), and unexpected problems could conceivably have arisen that interfere with answering you.

People can be out of town, experiencing Internet or computer problems, preoccupied with more pressing needs, etc., and
since you don't know the other party's situation, I'd allow up to 2-3 days, not 24 hrs unless you've seen them on the Forum.
