I will be in Hong Kong in July. I'm interested in buying a good quality
pool cue and shooting some pool while I'm there but have no idea where.
Any suggestions? Any help is very much appreciated.

Will you go to Taiwan to watch the WPC? I will be there if you need help finding a nice cue. In Hong Kong, a good 9 ball cue is hard to find and the price will almost certainly be too high. 9 ball is still a new game in Hong Kong.

Mrmyst, if you want to play, you can play at Billiards House (five tables), Skitz (two tables, but pple line up bar style), and Pool Club (its $100 per entry, you need a member to bring you in - thats not tough though).

For pool cue, Nippon is right, buying a cue from the dealers here are MIGHTY steep. the only real pool cue dealer here is Hong Kong Pool Club, and sorry to say, but they charge very steep.

If you don't mind a second hand cue you can buy my predator:P Actually, how long you are here for? you can send me a PM.

PM or Contact me.

I can show you around or give you more info.

Don't even think of buying decent pool cue in HK.

Don't mess with his head, he should buy my cue..:D

I can't help to wonder how come you both use "Fish" as your user name? :D  :D

Kalle, how much are you looking to spend if you don't mind me asking? And why don't you buy a cue before you go to Hong Kong?

Hope you have a good time in Hong Kong.

Yes, its a requirement by Hong Kong law, that if any HK citizen is to use internet forums, their aliases are to contain the word fish in some part of their name.

No, just kidding.

We are blood brothers who made our fortune from our family fish empire.

No, just kidding.

We are lovers, I am the fish, and he blows me.

No, Just kidding.

it just so happens:) I had this name from Toronto, cuz i suck in pool..so pple would always call the hustling bait "fishes", so i just became the fish.

Why the nick?

It's just really a coincedence. The Fish and I are friends (hopefully he thinks so or I'll really kick him from behind :D ), both are in HK(he's local and I'm pinoy) and both play pool (I won't get into that :p ).

I've used that nick since my IRC days way back 1996. I've stick to it when available in any electronic forum.

Unless.....

May I add to that:

Unless the cue is from The Fish.

Hint: I'll be hearing a Skip being offered shortly. Just my guess. :p

Thank you for the humor... ;)

If any of you are planning to go watch the WPC in July, please feel free to give me a shout. I will be there for at least 10 days.

Take care.

Richard

I hope I'll be there.

You're welcome.

I surely hope I can go and it's my dream. If not for work, I would have loved to be there the whole week.

If you don't mind, do you happen to supply billiards equipment? Do you have a site?

Hi Blowfish:

Yes, I do.

I rather not advertise myself or talk about my work in public, but I have sent you a PM. Thank you very much.

Thank you all for the replies. Based on what you told me about the cues and their prices I probably will not buy a new stick in HK. I just figured I'd buy if the price was right but it obviously isn't.

I will be in HK for business, I really don't have the opportunity to go to Taiwan this time. Thanks for your offer anyway.

If the price is right I might just do that. Predators are pretty hot in my neck of the woods so I could sell it fairly easily. You can PM me with the details. I'll be there for a few days only.

Thanks for your offer. Perhaps you, TheFish and I can shoot some 9-ball or straight pool while I'm there?

Let's just say that if I find something I REALLY like I'm not too concerned about the price. I already got a nice Layani, I just figured that if cues are cheaper over there I might buy one or two, sell them over here and maybe make a few bucks for myself.

Now a Skip would be super. I might even pay good money for one :)
