Quality Snooker Cues in Toronto

I will be visiting Toronto in a few weeks. While there I would like to pick up a good quality snooker cue. Can anyone recommend a snooker club or snooker supply store in the area with a good selection of snooker cues? I have been searching the English websites, but the shipping costs are prohibitive.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Here several suppliers. I suggest that you contact them before coming to Toronto to determine their stock.

http://www.fgbradleys.com/

27 pages of cues on their site, but you have to go through them all because they do not segregate pool cues from snooker cues.
Stores in a couple of malls, but don't expect that the stores to have the full web offering.

If you are driving into Toronto from the west, one store is in Sherway Mall, Southwest corner of the junction of 427(Brown's Line) and The Queen Elizabeth Way

http://store.billiardplace.com/

North of Toronto, prices on web site are in U.S. $
Snooker cues separated on the web site, different selection than Bradleys

http://www.hallmarkbilliards.com/

Brunswick supplier, useless web site. Easy to get to if you are driving in from the west. On Dixie Road between The Queen Elizabeth Way and 401 (closer to 401) I'm not familiar with their cue selection

Have you tried Mastercue?

I can't comment on cue availability in TO but I have purchased 2 cues from Mastercue in Thailand and for about $200.00 you can get a cue handmade to your specifications - length, tip, joint location, etc. If you add 2 extensions and an aluminum case you are looking about $400.00 US including shipping. Several British sites offer Mastercues for resale and the quality and workmanship is top drawer.

Thanks for the advice. I have been looking at Mastercue and Craftsman cues. It is tough to order one without every seeing or hitting with either brand. The positive feedback regarding Mastercue does help.
Thanks, Dave

I almost bought from master cues when in Thailand, I think he's based opposite the large weekend market (chatucha) if you every go. I think they'd probably do the job Dave but I wouldn't like to buy without trying one either.

I'll be in Toronto for a couple of days July 1 - 3 if you fancy a hit, mainly going to visit Niagra and check out Toronto but will probably be in a pool hall half the time.

PS
I haven't played Snooker in almost 2 years now!

It hasn't changed much. Apart from having the option to push out after the break or take ball in hand if you're snookered, say behind the purple or orange when your opponent forgets to call which pocket he's going for. Oh, and black off the break scores 148.

Wow sounds great, are you still allowed to drink beer, oh and can I wear baggy clothes now or is a waist coat still required?

3 fouls is loss of game still right?

Craig, nice to hear from you. Sounds like we have an almost identical itinerary. I'm taking the wife to Niagra and then to Toronto to catch a show. Unfortunately, this trip is strictly about her. I was just hoping to be able to pick up a decent snooker cue while I am there. I think she'd lose her mind if I decided to play while in Toronto. We haven't had any decent time for just the two of us since my son was born. Maybe some other time.
Take it easy, Dave

I'm from Buffalo, NY (if you hadn't guessed by my name) and I have just become recently interested in Snooker. I'd like to try and play sometime but have absolutely no idea where a good hall with good equipment is located near me. I don't think there are any around here but but maybe somebody knows of one or two just across the border. I'm only 10-15 mins from the border so it's no big deal. Any help would be great. You can pm me if you like, I don't wanna hijack this thread.

Thanks,
Jim
