Question about Auctions, e-bay, etc.

Seen several auction site where you can buy Cues, etc. But do not understand the word “RESERVE”, or term "RESERVE NOT MET”.

Could someone please SPLAIN to me , as Ricky Ricardo use to say these terms to me.

Also how do you find out what the “RESERVE” is, or is it a secret????

The reserve price is set by the seller, if he chooses to do so, to protect himself from the item being sold too cheap. He can set a minimum price he's willing to accept. The reserve price is secret, but often if you email the seller he'll tell you what his reserve is.
