Question about room size

I am in the process of looking for a new house and have a question about the size requirements for a 9' table. I know that the recommendation is no smaller than 18'x14' for a full length cue, but all of the houses that my wife and I see that we would like to buy only have rooms that are 13' wide; length is not an issue. I would mainly play one pocket and 10-ball on it and was wondering if anyone has a setup with this limitation. If so, what are the compromises and how often do they come up. My main concern is about one pocket and how often the cue would hit a wall when shooting from positions close to my pocket over the rail.

If you do not have the room size you probably will not be happy. Especially with one pocket. Almost every other shot will be a rail shot. I have just over 14 feet and still run into the wall on perpendicular to the rail shots.
