I have a one off Jacoby that is my favorite play cue thus far. The only problem is it is a little on the heavy side. I love the balance on it just want to lighten it up a touch (1.0 to 1.5oz). ]

The bolt in it is a black oxide 3/8 bolt about 2in long. It is an alan head and threads about 2.5 to 3 in into the cue. I tried just taking the bolt out but it just seems way to front end heavy.

If it makes any diffrence the pin is a radial with a wood to wood flat faced joint. Curly forearm with 4 ebony points. The butt sleve is ebony with a black phenolic butt cap. The entire handle appears to be cored with maple but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just from what you've written, the obvious solution, to me anyway, would be to swap-out the stainless steel Radial pin for one of G-10. That will remove approx. 1oz from the front-end.
This will likely make the cue too light but you can now use a wght. bolt to regain your balance point.

But wouldnt that change the feel of the cue? I dont really want to do anything that will change the hit of the cue?

If that is the case then I would say "Don't touch the cue" as anything you do to it from changing the tip to changing the bumper is going to effect the "hit" of the cue. The weight is part of the "hit". Either you like it or you don't like it. There is absolutely nothing that can be done that is not going to affect something.

Thanks for the help guys. I was thinking about the same as what I was told but then again, I am not a cuebuilder lol. I respect your insight and appreciate the help.
