Its VNEA rules while thats the league we play in. I make the 7 ball and have no shot on the eight ball so i carom off the 8 ball and make the nine but the cueball follows it into the pocket. Is it a loss of game or do you spot the 9 ball back up on the spot and the incoming player has ball in hand on the 8 ball?

Please provide me some links on this Rule Thanks.

The nine ball is spotted and the opponent has BIH

G. FOULS. When a player commits a foul, he must relinquish his run at the table and no balls pocketed on the foul shot are spotted, except the nine ball. The incoming player is awarded ball in hand; prior to his first shot he may place the cue ball anywhere on the table. If a player commits several fouls on one shot, they are counted as only one foul.
