[Question] Safe to store cues disassembled and upright in a display case?

Hi Cuemakers,

This is most likely a dumb question, but since my research on the internet has yielded inconclusive results, I take to asking the experts here who know more than anyone else about cues. To sum up, I have 4 custom cues I really like and keep safely wrapped up in a JB case. With that said, custom cues are functional art and deserved to be seen when not in use. As such, I would love to have a wall mounted glass display cabinet setup for them. With that being the case, these are expensive cues and I want to ensure they stay in prime condition. My question is this:

I know you cannot lean a cue against the wall for long as it will warp the shaft, so will the same thing happened when the cue is disassembled and the butt and shaft are both gently leaning at the top when mounted vertically in a rack mount like this?

I'm an amateur/starter cue maker and have been wanting to build a case for a friend to display his collection. From what I've seen at the Expo one cue maker/dealer had his Cues displayed by drilling holes in a piece of aluminum angle . The joint protectors are used to suspend the cue. I would think the joint protectors should be loose enough to let the cue suspend freely. I hang all my turned stock anyway so I'm thinking this can't hurt. Curious what the pros think.

l modified some curio cabinets years ago. You can find them on craigslist or FB marketplace for cheap
