I am researching opening a room.

1. What are your hourly rates?

2. Do you find offering lower priced hourlies brings in more overall dollars?


2 a. Do lower priced tables directly increase your booze income?


3. Do you promote to local colleges? If so does it work for you?


4. Do you cater to the ladies in any way? If so, to what effect?


5. What promotes the most growth for you business long term? (Is it Adverts, leagues, promotions, tourneys...etc?)


6. What provides the best results short term?


7. If money was not an object, what would you add to your room to increase business? (Within reason)


8. In your opinion, what is the future of this business?


9. Do your competitors ever make mistakes that drive customers to you?


10. How large is your town (population) and how many rooms (including yours) share that?


11. Do you find you'd always like more tables? (How many do you have and have many more would you want?)

12. Does the cost of that extra space and the tables make good biz sense for you?

Guess nobody wants to answer. You're probably thinking there's no upside to it I guess.

But if you think about it, there is a VERY small chance I'd be your competition, and by answering here, and reading some answers, it might be beneficial for your biz too.

Couples night weds 20% off time No big difference

Tourneys, leagues, advertisement

Location and how you deal with the customers

More tables, bigger showroom

Very tough unless we get more kids playing and get some action matches live on tv

Not to often, but when they do I damn sure try to keep them.

7,000-10,000,

yes, I have 8 and would like at least 12-16 total

yes

Wednesdays ladies nite, free pool and drink specials, maybe 10% increase for the night

money is always the issue, had 20 tables, probably not increase

slowing down

St Louis area, many

11. Do you find you'd always like more tables? (How many do you have and have many more would you want?)

had 20, only needed more for large tournaments, tournaments usually only a break even deal if you add to pot

12. Does the cost of that extra space and the tables make good biz sense for you?

need to find the right number for your area, need enough to have a short waiting list during peak hours, there will always be open tables during the day
