Quick release tool post

I just got my mid America lathe and want a quick release post. All the tool posts I see bolt directly down to where this carriage has the nut that slides in. Maybe there's a certain name for mine and that's why I can't find one? Or do I need to modify for the bolt down type

Nothing pre-made I could find. I modified the base it came with. Drilled recessed holes and bolted it with t-nuts.

Your motor come with yours? I ordered without a motor cause I have a separate good motor but after the fact I wish mine was attached to the head instead
The best thing about those little lathes is that the head moves up and down the rail. The motor being stationary will be a serious drawback.

How does that work, from these pictures it looks like your tool post is in the middle of your work
I made a 4 inch adapter and extended it out to the back side , so it's not over top of my feed , plus i use the same bolt hole for the tool post as my router i have full travel , not limted. the same bracket holds my router horizntally too. I tried what you did, didn't seem to work very well

Looks like I didnt need to offset the holes for the base. Just needed to move the toolbit deeper in the holder.
Sometimes I just cant see the easiest way out (SSDiver 2112 pics)
