Well it appears as if Ms. Abbink could not make the tourney for whatever reason. Does anyone know if she won a q'er for this event, or if she was an invited player? If she wasn't gonna show, short of an emergency, why did she accept the q spot or the invitation? I understand perfectly well that "shit happens" in life that we can not control, but why was her space allowed to go unoccupied? I know for other (WPBA) tourneys that "back up" people are waiting in the wings incase a spot becomes vacant.

Furthermore, if I understand correctly, if a player fails to give adequate notice (2 months) of not attending a tourney then that player is bared from WPBA tourneys for the remainder of the year. If I am not confused about that rule, does apply to everyone or only Touring Pros? If this is the case for Ms. Abbink, will the q spots she "won" at the various regionals be given to the next person eligible at said regional q'ers or will the space be filled in the brackets via invitation or those ladies "waiting in the wings"?

I talked to Megan M. on Monday and everyone is actually quite worried about her. She didn't call to let anyone know she wasn't coming, and was supposed to room with Sarah Rousey. She simply didn't show up. She travels around a lot and bets quite a bit of money in spots. We hope all is ok with her. What would of happened if she called is that another girl in attendance would have been put in her spot. I was there, Stephanie Boch, Val Finnie, Susan Williams all were there to fill the spot. Hope this helps..

I tried to call her a couple of times, but never got her. Hopefully things are OK.

This is the one event for which you cannot win a Q. You are invited to play. And from reading the rest of the posts in this thread, Binky is MIA so her spot did not get filled.

I personally hope she's okay.

People are a bit worried-she was in Reno last week-pretty close not to make it especially when you have paid already.

Don't think it's changed, but you CAN win a qualifier to play in the BCA OPEN.

I think there are 4 qualifiers for the men, and 4 for the women each year in the U.S.

Otherwise, it is strictly invitational.

I know the east cost had two q'ers for the ladies. One in MD and one in Jersey. Low numbers for both...but yes, to my understanding there are q spots for the BCA open.

I really think her parents should be notified (Sarah?), apparently they thought she was in Vegas. This could be very serious and I like every one else hope she is fine but better to air on the side of caution. IMO.
