Think of buying maybe a New Rack or Two. Was wondering how many of you 9 Ball Players use a Rack Specifically Made to Rack Nine Balls( ONLY) in a the DIAMOND shape, or just use a Tradition 15 Ball Triangle Shaped Rack.

Wood, or Plastic, why, and how come you prefer Wood over Plastic, or Visa Versa?
;)

I personally do not like 9 ball racks. When I think about it, I can't really tell you exactly why I don't like it...the words just aren't coming to me. I prefer a wooden 15 ball rack. I find it easier to get a tighter rack...plastic racks sometimes are barely big enough to fit the balls in and then some of them tend to be weak and will give when pushing the balls in for a tighter rack. The words just aren't coming to me today so I'm not doing a very good job of explaining my reasons for my preferences. Sorry.

I would not get a 9-Ball rack, they are harder to push the balls forward in, they also are not as easy to lift off of the Table. I would buy a full size rack made of wood. Look for one with as little flex as possible. Diamond racks are very good. I heard Mueller's racks are good, but I have never used one, so I can't say for sure.

Wood triangle rack. The 9 ball racks are just too tight. I think you can get a much better rack using the triangle rack. And, the plastic racks do seem, to me at least, to be even tighter.

Triangle racks only, wood. I've heard the Muellers heavy plastic rack is very good, but haven't used one. I don't use 9-Ball racks... I wear a size 16 ring... hard to get my fingers inside those racks to push the balls up.

Later,
Bob
