I am an experienced player and even can do some basic cue repairs, but I need some help on this one.. Is there any way to "tighten" up a radial pin joint if the shaft has a phenolic thread insert? I know the old way for wood threads of putting two small drops of warm water in the shaft thread insert and screwing the cue together and leaving it over night (water swells the wood threads just slightly back to the exact pin size), but what about phenolic?

I have the same problem and i use thread taped almost every time I play. It works great
