Radial Pins and Shaft Collars

Do they make radial pins that go from 5/16-14 to 3/8-14? Also, can you change a shaft with a 3/8-14 thread to a 5/16-14 thread and change the shaft collar on the shaft if the shaft is .795" and the joint near the forearm is .840" so that the shaft collar tapers from .795" to .840"? Will a brass insert placed in the 3/8/14 thread with a 7/16-14 O.D. thread and 5/16-14 I.D. thread do the trick for going from 3/8-14 to 5/16-14? The shaft collar needs to be black with silver ring.

I'll take a stab at this. I take it you are trying to match your Cuetec shaft to a different butt.

1. You can change just about any pin/insert style to any other pin/insert style.
2. Radial refers to a specific pin made by the Uniloc Corp.
3. Matching a shaft with a smaller diameter to a butt collar with a larger diameter can, techinically be done, but the amount of taper you need is too much. A .045" taper over the length of a collar is more than I'd do because it will not look professional.
4. I'd bet that most 5/16-14 brass inserts will have the 7/16-14 OD thread.

I think you should just have a new shaft made to fit the cue.

Best Wishes,

Steve
