Went to the SBE last weekend and order my lathe from Chris Hightower. Looks like a good lathe to start on. Rather go with a 40" gap bed lathe but really don't have the room right now. Have to work out of my basement so I'd have to find Riggers to get it down there. I'll go cheap for now.
Ordered a Jet bandsaw, drum sander and dust collector. They should be here this week. Waited and searched the Net and found a site with 15% off and they shipped EVERYTHING for $6.99 (over 400 lbs. of equip.). The other places wanted around $200 in excess weight charges.
Gotta clean up then start building out my shop. I have off all next week so plenty of time to get stuff done. Might go to 84 Lumber, I hate buying studs at Home Depot.... crap's way too wet.
Ordered a bunch of stuff from Atlas, Cue Components and probably a couple more items from Prather tomorrow. Costs are mounting but I have most of what I need to get started.
I will be ready long before the lathe gets here.
