R - Found one hell of a deal on a hustler style case on ebay. It looks great and I'm extremely happy with the purchase. Dog refused to move from the modeling platform.
In today's episode of Bad financial habits, I was doing my usual eBay scans and saw a post that caught my eye. The seller was selling a "vintage cue and case". The cue was some funky fiberglass cue that isn't worth anything, but this case, on the otherhand, was worth the purchase price. It had maybe 5 hours left, so I figured what the hell and put in the minimum bid.... and won lol.
I've always been a sucker for Hustler Style cases. I bought a Jim Murnak case, but ended up selling it due for some reasons. I've humored the idea of requesting one from JB Cases to be built. I've had two brunswick vinyl cases, one I sold, the other I gave to a friend. One was in great condition, the other wasn't so much. I still browse ebay for the cases every now and then to see what pops up. Then I came across this case.
I'm familiar with QK-S, but I've never seen a 1x1 like this. Even my google searches came up blank. If this is a bootleg, they did one hell of a job. The pictures of the case looked pretty shotty, but upon holding it in person, it was much nicer than I imagined. The strap attachments were ripping off, but nothing some Super glue can't handle.
What I like about this case over the others hustler cases is the fact that the interior has felt liked compartments as opposed to the cloth pockets of the originals. No rattling like with the other hustler cases. My Sneaky pete fits snugly with no movement, and minimal movement from the shaft compartment. It comes with a strap, which is really nice too (one of the reasons I didn't like the Brunswick in the long run). It's a little lighter than my guiseppe 1x1, and a hair heavier than my porper 1x1 (all with the same cue). I was also able to fit a last 4ever tip tool, tip tapper, kamui Roku chalk, and a glove right in the top. The snap went on with east.
Below are all the pics, but all in all i was really surprised and amazed at the case. Maybe it's a fake, or a regional release type thing, but damn is it solid.
