Re. Chris Gentile & Danny Smith playing next week at Chris's Billiard's...

A coupla guys who were thinking of driving over, pm'ed me for some info about Chris's Billiards...so here's that, along with some pics of Chris's that I had in my picture files...

Chris's is a huge old school poolroom, on the second floor of a building in a nice neighborhood with easy parking....Chris's has 40-some tables in three different rooms, sectioned off by archways...there are: two 9ft. Diamonds - six Diamond barboxes - seven 3-cushion tables, and the rest are gold crown's...and as you can see in the pics, Chris's is lucky in having the luxury of mucho square feet, which is great for the players - there's lots space between the tables (especially in the side room, and the back room - which is the biggest room) and the whole poolroom has several comfortable stadium chairs around every table.

This first pic is of the back half of the front room, where most all of the action takes place...the table at left-center, where the guy in the white cowboy hat is playing, and the table behind him, have now been replaced by the two Diamond tables - and this is where Chris and Danny will be playing...

The second pic is of the front half of Chris's front room...

The third pic, is of Chris's side room, which is the smallest of the three rooms ------->

PS, An amusing 'historical' side note...that first table that you see in on the right side in pic #2 is where current DCC One Pocket champion Alex P. played his very first session of One Pocket - against yours truly...it was on his first road trip down to the U.S. when he was about 19 yrs. old...he didn't know the game much, but of course he would run out if I would leave him a shot..:)...we had fun playing for a few hours for $10 a game, and I taught him the game a little....I came out ahead $20, and now every year when I see him at the DCC he always laughs and says to me - "You want to play a game double or nothing for that $20 of mine?" - and I always laugh and say nah, I'm gonna keep that $20 and stay winners against you...:D

Heh... That's me on the left (getting my Ghostly spanking) and Pancake Phil in the background. Pancake delivered one of my favorite pool one liners one day years ago - I walked by him practicing and said, "Are they going where you point 'em, Pancake?" He kept on shooting as he cheerfully replied, "Unfortunately, they are."

I wasn't sure if I should identify you in that picture...cuz I didn't know if you were still being kept out of sight/incognito, re. you being included in the witless protection program...:p

Last time I was at Chris's (6-7 months ago) I thought I saw a snooker table just opposite the front counter. I passed by it quickly on my way to the back room, so maybe I'm mistaken.
