Re-Dye Leather Grip

Hi all,

I need some advice, the colour on my black lizard textured leather grip is fading and rubbing off.

Does anyone have good recommendations for re-dyeing this? Any tips on how to do it would be good too.!

I've been looking at Fiebings, Pro dye, and sealing it with their Resolene.

If the finish is coming off I'd bet the finish LAYER is coming off. You know that never really was a lizard, right?

oh yeah I knew it was embossed leather, not a real lizard skin. Just curious if anyone has any experience in re-dyeing the leather.

I think your products listed will work fine.

I see no harm in trying with leather dye. Just make sure you mask off the ends of the wrap channel and use gloves. That stuff takes days to wash off and if you get it on your clothes they are ruined.

My one time relying a leather wrap, tape well to protect cue finish.
I then used Fiebings Deglazer for the wrap.
I then used Fiebings leather dye.
worked very well for me and 5 years later still looks great. But tape well, that can’t be said enough.
