SJM and CJ...Allow me to clarify my statements (in red) in my original post below. Shane's improvement at one pocket, has been very impressive. He loves all disciplines, and works harder than ANYONE at learning all games ! I would now place him in the top ten, but still not in the top five !..Admittedly, there are no longer 2 dozen player's above him..like there was THREE YEARS AGO !..This of course, is JMO, I do not expect total agreement ! (but I will put my handicapping skill's up against CJ's, all day long !..

SJM..Not just for the sake of arguing...But are you forgetting his opponent was SVB ?...This was the most unexpected one pocket final EVER at DCC !...(This was the common consensus of myself, and everyone at one pocket.org..THREE YEARS AGO)..There were about two dozen 'much better' one pocket player's in the field that year..They either cancelled each other out, or Earl and SVB drew around them !..Not to make light of Earl's amazing talent at 9/10 ball, but calling him an 'all-around' player, IMHO is a bit of a stretch !This remark was directed at CJ, for his "all-around" claim re; Earl
Both have improved their one pocket game considerably since that time, Shane more than Earl..(Self explanatory) But both are still considerable underdogs to the top echelon 1P player's. (Busty, Alex, Frost, even Gentile, etc.)...I would lay considerable odds Earl will never see another DCC finals again !..The odds of another Earl/SVB final, are off the charts !..and yes, I WILL book either one ! (You will notice, I did not say SVB would never be in a DCC final again..Only that Earl would NOT...So I still stand by my assertion, that the likelihood, of an Earl/SVB one pocket final, in any major tournament, would be "off the charts" against happening !)
