Really looking to add a Vantage shaft cue to my collection

Ok, so I'm really interested in acquiring a cue with a vantage shaft. Reason being is based on all the reviews saying it hits with a lot of power/efficiency. I played with a stiff shaft in the past that I dominated with and have come to prefer them as I play with an open bridge and prefer the extra force on my long shots. My question is, how can I get one and not have to spend 700+ dollars? Which is absolutely ridiculous for a maple shaft cue. I know predator backs its claims up with their products but damn. If anyone has idea's for comparable shafts I'm open to it. Anyways just looking to add it to my collection, playing well with my Cynergy as of right now. Getting better with it to. Just looking to get into collecting. I love cues! ;)

I am really happy with my Jacoby Ultra shafts. Come in all joint sizes and lengths. Its a very high quality shaft. Between the wife and I, we have 4 of them, and use them on our Schons. Am actually thinking of getting another to use on my McDermotts and a DZ that I have.
I would think similar to a Vantage, but not sure on that. Just another option to consider. I would think a Vantage shaft would also be available in a joint size to fit an existing butt you have.

If you are trying to find a full cue with that shaft and complaining about the $700 price, since the shaft on it's own is $340, a full cue for $700 means the other half is $360 which is a perfectly normal new retail price for a good quality nice cue butt, or in Predator's case an average butt with marketing price hehe. If you want to get it cheap, find it used or buy a cheap cue and a shaft to fit it.

Not sure why you would want to spend money on a production Predator shaft for "collecting", that you won't use as a playing setup. Buy some custom cue instead that actually came from a maker.

If you are looking for a shaft that will help with power, get a Revo, it's the best shaft for adding extra zing to a shot I have tried, and I tried probably 80% of production shafts out there.

Yes full cue. Its not just for collecting. I fully plan on making use of it. I have zero issues picking up new cues/shafts and adapting as ive been playing for 20+ years. And Yes I could go with getting a 5/16/18 for the valhalla cue I have but I'd rather have something that fits flush. Not a huge fan of viking cues with the weight distributed to the middle of the butt.

Schon stl-3 with predator 314-3 upgrade, about $820, all new, Seyberts. Probably could upgrade with most any shaft they stock.
Would not be butt heavy with the steel joint they have, and the shaft having a brass insert for the 5/16 14 thread. I would think the Jacoby shaft would be about the same price, or a couple bucks cheaper.
Would make a great cue.

You won't find a new cue that comes with a Predator shaft unless you buy one of the new cheaper Aspire lines for much less than what you don't want to pay, simply because no one is going to pair a $100 butt with a $300 shaft at a new dealer level. You would need to buy a cheaper butt then the shaft to go with it, or buy a full used cue.

If you like stiff hit the Vantage fits the bill. Its also quite low in deflection for a shaft that size.
It’s not so much a stiff shaft I like but more one that throws a lot of energy. You know one where you have to watch your strength so as to not throw yourself out of position. I owned a fiberglass cue that did just this. It got tremendous spin and made that cue the energizer bunny. I never figured out what kind it was :(

material or stiffness doesn't add/detract the spin you get.

The used market can be your friend if you must buy a cat. Vantages though are kind of hard to find used in general. You could shop around for a well used roadline butt for a couple hundred and buy a vantage shaft new. Other option I would recommend if you want to keep it on budget is buy a j flowers. For a few hundred bucks you can buy full on carbon set up. More expensive stiff wood set up look into a mezz EC9 or MSP2 thru mezzusa.com. You can buy it directly new with a vantage or an HPii which is really stiff for wood. Happy hunting.

I might get a Viking with a uniloc joint from seyberts to than couple with any shaft. Probably going to get a Jflowers eventually as well. Mezz is too expensive, don't like the united joint.
