Greetings,

What's the difference between recut points and veneers? From my inspection veneers is made from a very thin layer material, maybe wood? where recut is strictly wood glued to another wood. And also the recut seems to have more gap between points where veneers are very close together.

Any other thoughtfull idea? Which one is harder to make or more time consuming?

Thank's

Veneers are strips of dyed sycamore glued to a point and then attached to the forearm. Recuts are gluing up a point, cut a groove in the point and glue up another point inside the first. This process is repeated for each recut. Needless to say recuts are more time consuming and more costly due to wasted wood. That being said, they look a lot better when done well.

Would you mind explaining the gap between points section, Are you talking about recut thickness or actual gaps.

I choked on that as well, but concluded he had to mean the thickness of the recuts are larger than the veneer thickness. I would hate to see those gaps otherwise.
