Red Layered Tip?

I did a "Search" and think I answered this question-but: I have one shaft that has a leather tip with a distinct "reddish" tinge to it. I assumed it was a Sumo tip but, upon closer inspection, it is layered. From what I can read, Sumo's are not layered.

Is this tip a Sumo?

Although its a very hard tip, it doesn't miscue and spins the ball nicely. But its so hard and makes such a unique distinct almost "clack" sound, I keep looking to see if its delaminating, or is getting ready to come off or the ferrule might be cracked or ????

Thanks!

It's not a Sumo, as you said, Sumo's aren't layered and they are only red when they are new; when you install it, all the red coating is taken off. Just an educated guess, but maybe the tip you have is a Super Pro? It is a very hard, layered, red tip.

Sounds like a Super Pro Hard? The are decent for breaking IMO, and are very hard, red, layered tips. I could shoot with one also if I had to.

Super Pro Hard Layered Tips

Yep, I would bet it's a Super Pro.....I think they are an excellent "Breaking Tip" and we use them on all our house cues -- cause they last forever :D

I just bought a 100 of them if somebody needs a couple ;)

Adams Cue Tip?

It might be an Adams Super Pro tip. I bought 50 from Ebay seller Hotcues, Item # 7250982829. I don't see them in his listings right now. Ten bucks for 50 plus $3 shipping. They are 13.5mm, red, layered, kind of thin and very hard. I put a few on the house cues I do every once in a while and let my buddies know to break with those cues :D. The pictures show one flanked by an Elkmaster and a Lepro (14mm) for reference.

Super Pro Hard-Thanks For The Input

Based on the comments and pictures, it is indeed a "Super Pro Hard."

It plays just fine but its so hard it's "clanky" and overrides any feel/feedback from contact.

OFF IT COMES....................

To the rescue
