refelting bed

hey everyone
i have a gandy sportsman and the rails and bed need re-felting, also the rails need new rubber, i have spoken with my local billiard supply/mechanic and he is doing all the work on the rails, he suggested i do the felt on the table, he said he could give me pointers and it wasnt that difficult

will be using simmoins cloth

can you guys offer any pointers or tips/ i want to do the best possible job and be prepared

Why is does he not want to do the bed of the table? If he doesn't, I don't know if I'd trust his work on the rails...
 
it wasnt that he did not want to , i live way outside the city and he was trying to save me some money, i have known him for 20 years and fully trust him
 
Gotcha. From my understanding (I'm not a mechanic) the hardest thing to do with Simonis is getting the bed cloth stretched properly. If you're going to be spending the money to hire someone, spend it to have them do it all. If he is a friend, ask him when he does it to help teach you so in the future you can do it yourself. I myself would not try to do the bed cloth myself with Simonis...
