I send a cue off to be refinish/ "not by the original cue maker" but well know cue maker. We spoke about signature on the cue and came to agreement that it would not have to me mess with..if the finish was good at the name. Well i got the cue back and the name was gone...... so i ended up sending it to the original cue maker . My question is ..can a cue be refinish without disturbing the signature ? If not then when having a cue refinish you must send it back to the original maker and this may take months . Thanks all.... I do have the cue back now and its just like NEW!

This is actually a very common subject. Each one should be handled on an individual basis depending on the cue and the finish it currently has on it.
Examples
New finish not compatable with the old.

Is their a logo available,
Not all cue makers will give them up, nor do they have to, but they might if they trust the person doing the refinish.

Some logo's are done by a stamp or C N C.

Some times the person doing the refinish won't call the cue maker to see what his options are.

The same is true for most all repair work, Mike.
Some cuemakers will not asist in rebuilding their trademark in a repaired part and some will.
I think it is always a good idea to have the original cuemaker repair a damaged cue but due to time or location this is not always possable and I can understand someone wanting to use a local repair person if he trusts them to do the work properly.
