Once upon a time, way back in the 1990's, tournaments were played on green cloth. Not only that, the five ball was orange and the 4 ball was purple. They raced to 13 under a winner break format, using cues with maple shafts. Hard to believe, I know. But here it is, video proof. Johnny vs. Earl, giving us plenty of drama. Apologies to those who have already seen this, but the newcomers really should find it enjoyable.

i don't watch all those matches pat is putting out there, but when earl is in the title it's a sure watch. the one pocket i always watch. this match was a great one, thanks mr fleming.

my pool hall changed to blue cloth and it's much brighter and easier to see the edges of the 6/8-ball. with good lighting i don't mind green.

Whuuuut? I thought pool shafts were black? What are they using? Must be some secret pro tech, no wonder they shoot so good. I'd like to see them take a revo and do half the shots. Stupid cheating elite pros using special shafts.
🤣 🤣 🤣

Well, I did enjoy the hell out of that!

Being new to playing real pool, I was ignorant of the completive world of pool going on while I went about my other life.

Popped it on thinking I would watch a couple minutes and got hooked in for the duration.

Yeah..I couldn't help but notice how long those ferrules were...must be some kind of tricky and special cue science. ;)

I'm not sure Earl is the best example of what you're trying to say. He has every kind of gimmick in the world from crazy glasses to a cast on his arm headphones and so on. He was also one of the first pros playing with cuetec cues.

Gee even the commentating was good
“ supreme act of cowardice “
( actually don’t know if it’s in this one but that line always makes me smile)
