Okay i finally got my own table!! (aside from the one at my folks that im not aloud to have.) I found a used slate bar box. 4 x 8. I havent looked at it yet, but i am going to pick it up tonight. I'm only paying $200 cdn, but i figure the worst slate table in the world is worth $200 if the slates in good shape. For now i am getting some used simonis off a friend to put on. Anyways, I am flat broke right now and can't afford to replace the rubber (if it needs it) and put simonis on it till June when i get back from Vegas. I can't afford to have a table mechanic do it. I have had my other table set up professionally every time and i kinda watched him balance it and put the cloth on. Can someone go through step by step detail of how to replace the cloth and balance it? I need to refresh my memory. I am not sure where to start stapling the cloth. I was gonna start by stretching it at the centre pockets and then outward from there. Can someone give me a detailed method that works better?

Read this thread for some good Simonis stretching info.

You will, most likely, need a machinist level (can get them under $100 usd) to level it properly. If it is one piece slate, you can get away with a carpenter level and the 'ol "trial and error" ball rolling method...
