Report incorrect on Viking Tour payouts

The current report on the Viking Tour event from Greenville, SC on the azbilliards website is in error. They seem to have included the calcutta payouts in their calculation. So while they say that Neville earned $1265, Butler $850 and Hollingsworth $560 those numbers are roughly doubled.

I believe the actual payouts were 1st $675, 2nd $460, 3rd $300.

This was also the case with their report on the Viking Tour Southeast championships, by the way, which was won by Charlie Bryant.

Way to go, Nikki!! Nice job in a tough field. Wonder how much she went for in the Calcutta?
I was glad to read that she's doing so well with her game and that she finished that well in such a strong field. I know she lurks around here sometimes... Congrats on the baby, and a strong finish in the tourney this week. :)

Kerry,

I'll bet she went higher than one might think. I just moved from Greenville, and I have seen her play around 5 or 6 regional events at GameTime. For some reason she always plays great there. She told me that the tables are not quite as high as most places, and she feels more comfortable playing on them.

A few tournaments back she beat a very strong field and finished 2nd to Hillbilly Bryant. A couple of months ago, she beat some great players and finished 4th. She always is able to turn on the heat there for some reason.

Mike always includes the calcuttas to make the payouts look impressive. When in actuality there are not. Giving this false impression could make some players travel a good distance, get a hotel room and enter the tournament and find out that he or she has to place in the top 2 just break even....the better known players are the ones that pump up the calcutta...

Yes, she is a great player. At one time she was considered the best player to not win a WPBA tournament, netting several second-place finishes, and remained consistently in the top 16 her entire pro career. A few months ago she came up here to visit, and we practiced a bit together. After a few close races to nine she caught a gear, and the last two races she just wiped me out!! It's nice to see that motherhood hasn't put much of a dent in her game. :)
