Reseal a old linen wrap

Hi everyone, I know many would advise against this but I would like to know if it is possible to reseal or help to make a linen wrap better? Because my current wrap is old and absorbs moist when my cue is not in use. I cannot change the wrap just yet due to financial problems. I have a pocket lathe, any suggestions?

One of the objectives of a linen wrap is to absorb the moisture from your grip-hand as you play.
If you have residual moisture in your case, it will absorb that also.
The first thing I'd suggest is to WASH the wrap; mild dish-soap and water, rinse well, repeat as necessary.
If it will stand that it stands a good chance of restoration.
Personally, I use an extremely small amount of Mohawk Padding finish to seal.
This is all done with the cue spinning in a lathe. If you don't have a lathe, find someone who does.

If you try to go buy a bottle of sealer and cleaner and sand and clean the wrap you are going to have half the cost of a new wrap and an inferior wrap to a new one, so I would say save up a little and get it replaced or just pay someone to clean and lightly seal the one you have on a lathe so it is done right. They should charge about half or less than new wrap to clean and seal it. That would give you professional results for about what you would pay in materials.
