I'm not sure if this is the write place to post this, so can somebody move it to the right place if it's not? I recently placed an order to buy a custom cue from Bebot Bautista, and I thought I'd like some of your opinions and suggestions on the specs and if there is anything I should change. It's going to have the following specs:
Stained Purple Heart Forearm
Stained Purple Heart Buttsleeve
Stained Ashwood Handle
Metal-to-Wood tenon joint
Metal-to-Wood 3/8x8 joint
A few ebony points and floating points
Several ringworks at the buttcap and joint collar
2x 12.5 mm shafts (still unsure what kind of taper)
19.3 oz
I'm currently still trying to figure out the material of the buttcap and joint collar. I want a black color for both of them, so my cue maker suggested phenolic, bakelite, or black fibra, but I have no idea which one to pick. I'm also unsure what type of ferrule and size I should get for the two shafts I'm getting. I've searched through numerous of the past posts, but never really found anything that helped me make a decision on this. Also, what do you guys think about the different types of tapers out there?
