revo shaft sound

Any problems you experience with the Revo. Do yourself a favor. Call Predator and send it back. They take this very seriously.
And you said new. That would also include you haven't had the tip changed. Yes?

Did it start from the first use or develop with use?

Realizing "pinging sound" is a little vague as the Revo shaft does have an inherent sound difference to anything I've previously used.
Is what you are hearing similar to a tink/ping like shooting with your hard leather tipped break cue?

The Revo is hollow carbon fiber composite with foam filling (my guess for sound dampening); it will not have the same sound as your previous wood shafts.

Of course this doesn't rule out a potential manufacturing defect in the joint collar, vault plate front end, tip attach, or tip itself...
You said "Revo Cue"; might also check the weight bolt(s); ensure they are tight.

Might inquire in your area, does anyone else have one you can test hit/compare?
Consider Isolating the sound (shaft of butt) by installing any other applicable shaft on you cue.

Alternatively, send me a PM for my email address if you care to send a hit sound video. I have two Revo shafts, I can at least compare yours to mine.
 
Did you change tip?
Remember that Predator have a sound controll pad on their shafts, if that is removed it will change the sound and alsoI void the warranty...
