Rhino vs Revo

from my experience my 11.8 revo had less deflection than the rhino 11.8
and transferred energy better
but the rhino is definitely worth buying

Has the Rhino carbon shaft been compared to Revo in terms of deflection?
Rhino makes a good quality product for an excellent price. The small amount of difference between the two isn't going to be that noticeable, unless you're a perfectionistic type player who has the ability to even notice the difference, If there is any to begin with. Its a CF shaft. Most play within certain parameters and of all those I've hit with, differences were miniscule at best.

I found them to play very similar. Rhino price is better but extra length is potential issue for some.

I have 3 different brands of CF shafts on various cues. And I will put them in order of which I like the best:
1) Cuetec Cynergy 12.5 mm $400
2) Rhino 12.8 mm $180
3) Rouge/Pechauer 12.4 mm $490
I am an intermediate player, so I go more by how it feels in my bridge hand and my ability to pot balls with. I can't gauge deflection very well but the Cuetec seems to accomplish all I want it to do, plus is comfortable while doing it, and I shoot well with it. The Rhino is a very close second, maybe even tied with the Cuetec , but the Cuetec just feels ever so slightly better in my hands for some odd reason. The Rogue comes in close to the others but I seem to have problems shooting consistently with it sometimes, and it is very slick in my bridge hand to a point that I don't have the same feel as the other two shafts. Strange that it is the most expensive of the three by far, but that is how it works out with me. If I had it to do over again, I would have purchased a wood shaft with the Pechauer then put a rhino cf on it, and could have saved some cash.

180 is current price just about everywhere incl. ozone.
Has anybody seen a reduction in custom CF by the big houses yet??
The fact they haven't gone up is also an indicator of where this market is headed w cheap, well made CF shafts flooding the market. Most league players in my area will spend a couple hun on a shaft, but can't swing 4 plus. Just saying...

I can't outplay a $150-200 Rhino. Would another $200-300 price tag change that? Probably not. You can obviously get into preferences, balance, finish, sound, feel etc but I'd be hard pressed to feel a $200 difference in actual play. It's not about being cheap either. I don't mind spending money but getting the best bang for your buck is a nice thing.

The big boys won't reduce the prices because their market is people who have adopted their brands or people not wanting to take the chance on a cheaper shaft/lesser known brand. And that's OK. The market is large enough for both types of consumer.

To get market share the big boys will market whatever minor improvements they come up with as the next big thing... in reality shaft design has already reached the point of diminishing returns. You can pretty much buy any CF shaft at this point and it will work. Some might feel/sound/look a bit nicer to different individuals but there's not massive differences. There's probably more variation in wood shafts and technology levels than in the current crop of CF offerings. This isn't to say there's not enough variation to still allow preferences.
