For quite some time I considered ordering a Davis blank. After seeing various pictures of finished blanks I started itching to buy one. Before I talk about the cue I would like to talk about Dickie Neighbors (rhncue here on AZB).
Richard was stellar to work with. I had a few questions about what he thought would look better and he really nailed it every time. I also changed the wrap on this cue three times (luckily I did it before a wrap was ever put on it) and he really helped me out on it. As some of you may know Richard was in the hospital for a period of time. I called him up to see how he was doing and told him to take it easy and that I wasn't in a huge hurry to get the cue. Apparently he was having none of that because the cue was finished not long after he was moving around which shows ya just how hard working of a cue maker he is. Thanks again Richard.
The craftsmanship of this cue is absolutely fantastic. When I got it in the mail I just sat there and looked at it. My fiancee' looked at me and said "Do I need to make room in the bed for you and that cue?". I of course told her nooooo.........you need to stay in the spare bedroom for a week or so while me and the cue honeymoon. The weight and balance of the cue is perfect for me. I had Richard make this cue with one of his shafts and a 314-2 and the hit is another perfect for me
I'm so happy with this cue I already want another one. I'm already considering a Prather blank which would be a long spliced wrapless rosewood/BEM with the same veneers and I wouldn't think twice about sending it to anyone other than Dickie Neighbors to finish.
