Here is an early 1980's Robert Weir Cue. These cues are fairly rare as production cues go. Robert had them made by Adam from Japan. It is believed that there were less than a 1000 total Robert Weir cues made.

I bought one back in the 80's,nice cues.I sold it to a local bar banger,he got drunk and left it on the roof of his car and drove away form the bar one night,no more Wier cue.:frown:

The gentleman with the cue on eBay sent me this, If it's true it is something I was not aware of. Has any one ever seen a Weir cue that he actually built? I have never seen or heard of one.

Dear jay-man3,

Dude Here is part of the Weir story, Yes he did import cues from Richard Helmsetter.( ie; adams)Robert weir also made cues!! He worked with Richard Black for some time. That is why the (weir cues) were imported to Houston,Tx. I have worked personally with him, in the making of cues!! (post weir cue days) We sold them in the southeast. My cue was not in the line that he imported, there were some steel jointed cues, but at the lower end. If you could see one of the old Weir flyers you would be able to see the imported line. I have known him since we were teenagers, I am now 57, so believe me I have got hundreds of Weir stories. He now lives in Eastern Tenn.

I had heard a long time agon that Robert actually did build a few cues, but I never saw one he built himself. Then I heard he imported them all. So I guess he may have actually made some cues. I never heard he worked with Richard Black before. Maybe someone could ask Richard and if he says yes you can probably trust the rest of what this guy says.
