So this thought occurred to me the other day to attempt this shot like this.

I am shooting the 8 ball and I am right over the top of another ball. I decide to use the bridge. I decide to lay the bridge across the table where the black line is and place my bridge hand on top of that to get my bridge up higher and more stable. My real question that I need to know is if this is a legal shot or what rule it may fall under.
 
Not legal, I don't know the rule though.

It's something about you must use the bridge in the intended manner when used, I think.
 
I doubt it's legal...but I also don't see an advantage to this method....
....I got a feeling I would shoot normal against this bridge as a prop bet.

Just like you are not allowed to use two pieces of chalk on the table under your bridge hand fingers to raise your hand higher to shoot over a ball. Unintended use.
