i have an old schmelke i recently bought with what looks like an ash butt, all one piece, a brass colored joint, very short threads. old, good condition. supposedly about 500 new... anybody tell me if this cue has appreciated or depreciated in general?

p.s. i know i've heard of schmelke before, but cant remember if they were good cues or not.

i also have a viking 3 point 4 veneer thats very old. no shaft, somebody must of broken the cue, you can see where they put a whole new end on the butt, the craftmanship on it does look good though for whoever repaired it.

also an adams cue with no shaft. linen grip, white buttcap, no clue if its ivory or what, i'm sure somebody can tell me if adams usually uses ivory though. no shaft.

i'm looking for an estimate for both these cues. not sure that i wantto get rid of either yet, i definetely want to find a shaft for the viking and the adams.

Schmelke was a low end production. I would consider them equivalent to the modern day Players. There are a couple of fancier ones that can bring up to $300, but most seem to hover in the $75-100 range. Not great. I believe they still make cues.

The Viking is probably worth about $150.

I really like your Omen. I have a burl into ebony 6 pointer with lizard wrap and ivory/burl check rings. Also, veneers are recut. Not like the normal Omens you see. I think he makes a great cue, but I just wish everyone would stop making the SW design and think of something different for a change.
