Schon CX line questions (cx65?)

I have a few questions about the Schon CX line, hope some of you could give me some insight.

First, I was under the impression the CX line was supposed to be exclusive to cuestix.. yet I've seen the CX cues available in tons of places.

Second, in regards to the build quality and assembly of the cues, are there any differences between the CX series and the STL/LTD etc? Or are newly produced schon cues made in the same fashion?

third, does anybody here own or has anybody here shot with a cx65? I'm really liking this plain style cue but im having a hard time justifying $716 for it..

is there a reason this wrapless no point/inlay cue is so much more expensive than their cheaper cues with wraps, points/inlayed cues in terms of actual construction or build/build quality? Or is it just because they feel as if the aesthetics of this wrapless cue warrants the price bump? afterall, it IS a beautiful cue..

yeah.. been trying to find the perfect cue for me for a long time.. my taste in cues are the ones that aren't very extravagant.. although they are nice, i personally like the cx65 style.. stl1.. just saw a post about a full ebony southwest i think with flat black leather wrap too.. that was an awesome looking cue.. subtle with some super ringwork.

what im looking for is mainly a really well built players cue

mrgoochio,

cue stix is a distrubitor of that specific line of schon cues. So if you want a cx series cue you dealer will have to get it form cue stix.

Second, in regards to the build quality and assembly of the cues, are there any differences between the CX series and the STL/LTD etc? Or are newly produced schon cues made in the same fashion?

as far as I know all schons are built with the same cunstruction and quality.

Schon STL is a collection of 21 cues which are the classic favorites from all our years of cuemaking, a combination of the R series, the SP series, the SL series and the ST series.
Schon CX is a collection of cues made exclusively for Cuestix International and may only be purchased through a Cuestix dealer.
Schon SP are special cues which are not made on a regular basis. There is no set number and no naming system. The edition could be 1 or 2 cues or 30 cues.
Schon LTD cues are special editions made in small lots of 12 cues or less, one time only.
Schon Elite are cues which are made in an edition of no more than 7 cues, one time only.
Schon Unique are one of a kind cues.

is there a reason this wrapless no point/inlay cue is so much more expensive than their cheaper cues with wraps, points/inlayed cues in terms of actual construction or build/build quality? Or is it just because they feel as if the aesthetics of this wrapless cue warrants the price bump? afterall, it IS a beautiful cue..
I would have to say its because of the ebony and cocobolo is why they bumped the price..

Wow, i didn't know they made special STL series cues like this.. full ebony STL01? Are these cues rare? Where can I find more variations?

Yeah, I have owned two of those in the past. I put a black leather wrap on one and white on the other. Wish I kept the one with white leather. I looked real nice.

damn that stl01eb in the white leather wrap looks sharp.. now im thinking about stl01eb white leather wrap with original shaft turned down to 12.75 with ivory ferrule and kamui tip......... what a dilemma..

where did you get those cues from and why did you get rid of them? what type of leather are those wraps? what are you shooting with now?
