Hey guys, I have found a schon cue that looks a lot like a CX81. However, the buttcap says that it is a SP series cue. The only difference I can find between it and the 81 is the SP doesn't have ring between the buttcap and buttsleeve. Do any of you know what this cue is? I know schon did a lot things like leaving out a ring and renaming it, I just can't find this specific cue.

Thanks in advance,

The SP on the Schon cue denotes that it is a special edition cue. The Schon company's exact wording for such cues are that, "they are made in small editions but not limited to future repetition." What this may be understood as is that Schon can make a special edition cue that is a lot like other cues that a distributor has ordered but is not an exact replica (ie, the ring difference you mentioned) of that distributors cue line.

The CX in CX81 denotes all cues that have been made for the Schon distributor Cue Stix. If you go to the Cue Stix Schon page, you will see this in all of the cues that they have listed.

Another example of a distributor for Schon cues is Omega Billiards. Cues that are made for this distributor are labeled OM on the butt beside the Schon logo. Here is an example of those.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, and I understand that Schon has made minor changes to thier cues to run them on a different line or reproduce a popular cue, but slightly different. I guess my real question is, does anyone know the SP# that would be associated with a SP series cue that looks a lot like the CX81?

Thanks

Nice

LOL, well done sir. Thanks. It is interesting that, this one also has a ring between the buttcap and butt sleeve. I wonder if there is yet another SP version or if the one I found has been reworked at some point. Thank you very much for the info.
