Was at a tournament the other day and a guy had this interesting Schon that I haven't seen before. It appeared to have original micarta ferrules on it. The cue was in good shape but the clear coat on the handle needed some attention as you can see in the one picture.
Thanks in advance for any help

What you have there is an R3 that somebody took the liberty of adding the inlays in the butt sleeve and points. The bad finish probably happened after the inlays were added and the cue was refinished. I doubt the inlay work was done by Bob Runde.

Hmmm... not so sure about that. Interesting that the inlay colors match the veneers and it looks like the ring above the butt cap does too. Seems like a lot of add on work if it is. If the colors of your pic are true, I don't think I've ever seen that color used for veneers on a Schon before.

I think, if you were to send this request to Evan Clarke, he would tell you that it's an R3 that they embellished with inlays and charged the customer on a per inlay basis. I have an R series that doesn't fit into any category as well. Nice cue, thanks for sharing.

Looks like a Schon that someone tried to make look like a $10 import cue.

The finish also looks like it was re-done by someone new to doing cue finishes.

If that cue came from Schon like that it's probably a special order one of a kind and it definitely needs a new finish and wrap. I've never seen one like it......

The colors in the picture are accurate. I was looking at the palmer collector site that day and didn't notice the R3 because the inlays threw me off. I'll have to ask if it came that way with the inlays or if it was done by someone else after the fact.
